GRAND FORKS, ND – Republican Representative Dustin McNally announced today, he is seeking reelection to the North Dakota House of Representatives to continue to serve the constituents of District 42, prioritizing conservative leadership, responsible energy policy, and economic opportunity for the next generation.

McNally brings a strong background in higher education and energy policy to Bismarck. A graduate of the University of North Dakota, he earned bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and international studies, as well as a master's degree in mechanical engineering. He previously worked as an Energy Engineer at the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) before transitioning into academia, where he now serves as Assistant Dean for Student Success in the UND College of Engineering & Mines.

“I’m seeking reelection because District 42 deserves leadership that continues to listen, leads with integrity, and delivers real results,” Representative McNally said. “We face real economic and budget challenges ahead, and our district’s future depends on keeping costs low for families, supporting good-paying jobs, and ensuring UND remains strong. With growing demands on our energy grid and increasing competition for economic development, we must be proactive, responsible, and focused on results. That’s the kind of steady, accountable leadership I will continue to provide for the people of District 42.”

McNally’s campaign will center on affordability, economic opportunity, and keeping Grand Forks strong for future generations. He points to property tax relief, responsible state budgeting, and policies that support job creation through aviation, unmanned air systems, manufacturing, and energy development as top priorities.
